Welcoming our new District Mission Enabler

We are delighted to share that Rev James Baker has joined the team as District Mission Enabler and New Places for New People Lead. We welcome James to the District and this role.

James Baker is an ordained Minister, mission leader and professional supervisor with experience in strategic leadership and governance. Originally ordained in the Uniting Church in Australia and now serving within British Methodism, he is passionate about helping churches and individuals recognise and participate in God’s mission. His work is shaped by grace, inclusion and embodied faith, bringing together theological depth, pastoral attentiveness and practical imagination.

Alongside local and regional ministry, James has served in director and board-level roles, contributing skills in strategic leadership, governance, legal reasoning and organisational development. James is particularly passionate about nurturing inclusive communities in which difference is honoured and people are equipped to participate confidently in God’s mission.
