Welcoming our new All We Can Engagement Officer

Welcome to Jessica Dalton, Church Engagement Officer for All We Can, covering London and the South East Region.

Jessica Writes:

My name is Jessica and I am the new Church Engagement Officer for All We Can, covering the London and the South East region. I am a Methodist Local Preacher and Circuit Steward based in West London, where I live with my husband and two sons, aged 5 and 1. My background is in the theatre where I worked with a number of churches to develop creative mission projects. I have had a wonderful first few weeks with the team at All We Can and look forward to being out and about across the region over the next few months!

All We Can is the Methodist relief and development charity and we support long-term, locally-led work that meaningfully impacts communities and individuals across the world. We are committed to listening and enabling rather than leading, and seek to offer unrestricted funding where possible, to allow communities to direct their own priorities and resources. My role as engagement officer is to link churches up with our work, to share what is happening and what we are doing, and to invite you to partner with us in prayer, in solidarity and in fundraising. I would love to come to your church on a Sunday morning (perhaps when you have a Local Arrangement planned) to take a service, share some stories from our partners and reflect on the call to justice and kingdom building that is at the heart of the Christian life. I am also available to come as a speaker for youth groups, lent lectures, circuit events, or anything else that churches might be hosting, and especially love to talk about our partnership approach to development, and some of our theological thinking behind this. We also have a whole host of resources that you can use and adapt in your own context and I can signpost you to those. I would be very open to exploring anything creative you wanted to do as well, there are all sorts of possibilities!

I know many of you will already be very active in the work of All We Can, thank you! We rely on the generosity and support of the people called Methodist, who have funded and cared for our work since All We Can first began almost 100 years ago.
